Deadman Wonderland episode 2 Some spoilers

The episode opens with Makina giving a quick introduction to the series and a hint as to what has and will happen in her usual threatening tone. The image then snaps to Makina sat in a dimly lit office with only a computer screen lighting the room with tense music driving the atmosphere and then to Tamaki who gives a small speech of his own.

After the opening theme the scene changes to Ganta in a doctors office where he is receiving treatment where he meets a fellow inmate who ran into him with a trolley. Shiro decides to drop in talking about a race which the as of yet un-named inmate called the Dog Race. He then proceeds to explain some of the key aspects of Deadman Wonderland. This scene acts to explain the end of the previous episode and it did it well making the scene a little more interesting than the standard introductory B.S.

The episode then skips to the race preparations
they are introduced to another inmate Kozuji, a former MMA fighter, a thug and a psycho with a superiority complex. One of the unfortunate many who has a two dimensional personality, he'd be a bit more intimidating if we hadn't seen it more than a million times. After some needless chatter the the race begins. And what a messy event it is. It once again proves to the audience that it has been rated properly. I wont go into too much detail but I will say there are some spectacular scenes with one hell of a battle royal to top it all off before a somewhat tense ending and a reminder of our heroes predicament.

Smiting in Skyrim

Unless your loaded with money or are willing to go off the beaten track and explore (which seeing as it's an open world RPG you should be) to find your gear you will spend a large number of your gaming hours doing this. I personally scavenged and robbed the hapless corpses of those I had butchered to get my gear and as a more sneaky assassin-esque type character I didn't have a huge focus on smithing, the issue now is that as I face tougher opponents I need to get better armour that most enemies would not drop. So I eventually gave in and took up the hammer and anvil.

Now there are two ways to cheaply grind up your smithing, through iron daggers and leather bracers. It may just be me but I find that the bracers work best.

Gaming hints: Skyrim

So Skyrim is getting on now as a game but it is a popular as ever and is arguably one of the most successful rpg games of the last generation (still feels wrong saying that). So as I have recently picked the game up again and started from scratch so this is for the people just getting in to the game.

Back on it's release I personally found many aspects of the game to be rather easy but somewhere over the last few years there's been an update to make game a little tougher, that or I've just got worse at the game. Whatever the case' there are dozens of exploitable little areas of the game that are ideal for grinding and don't feel like cheating.

First I'd like to go in to combat training. The first time I hit a horse I flinched a bit expecting this thing that I'd just seen kill two mages within a minute to come crashing down on me like a sack 'o' potato's. Nothing happened so I took another swing with my steel axe. Again, nothing. Then I realized how little damage I was doing in my low level state. Having now swung at the thing a good twenty odd times by now I'd boosted my one handed skill up to twenty five from twenty one. My point is that if you can put up with a horse screaming for half an hour you can buff yourself up a fair bit,  the issue is that unless you've got one horse in particular, eventually little horsey will go bye bye eventually.

It's only the rain achievement guide for DMC

This is a rather easy achievement but if you miss it or mess it up you've got to do it all over again and at first I didn't have a clue how to do it and while I know I'm dumb but I'm sure there's someone out there with the same problem as me so here it is a simple guide to an easy 10G.

It's part of the opening mission, about a quarter of the way through you come to a rather fun looking ride (the achievement calls it the Hurricane). To get the achievement all you have to do is wait for the ride to reach it's lowest point (as seen in the screen shot) and launch them in to the air (I just used the B control, this does do a minute amount of damage to you to).

30 day anime challenge

The absolute shambles of a feature will be taken down due to my failings, fear not however because it will be returning sooner than you think (some people who had their hopes up just closed their browsers I know it). Yes April is a 30 day month and while I will be on holiday for two weeks I will have the thing updated before the end of the month.

Yes, I know now go flirt as smoothly as grade 4 sandpaper you cheeky little bitch

I hope :P

The C**TDOWN

In the unfortunate demise of my favorite ladsmag Front I have been inspired by my second favorite aspect of the mag. The C**ntdown involved reader suggestions of c**nts who they would like to be included in the C**ntdown, the mag then agrees or disagrees with that suggestion and includes that person (or thing in some cases e.g. George Pig, yeah I know) and that person is then included in a rather immuring top 10 for the month.

I will be creating a video shortly to advertise this idea via YouTube which along with this post will include a link to my Facebook page. If you do have suggestions you can leave a comment below, on the linked Facebook page or on the video which will also be linked when created.

review of Closer a NIN cover by Asking Alexandria for Punk goes 90's

Like them or loath them everyone in the metal scene has heard of Asking Alexandria, arguably the UK's biggest metalcore band since BMTH (both of which I fucking adore musically. Oh alright maybe I do have a man crush on Oli sykes).

I've been a fan of the Punk goes series since I was introduced to AA with Right Now (their cover of the rather crap Akon song) but when I heard that they had covered a NIN (Nine Inch Nails for those of you who don't know) track my heart sank. While not a huge fan of the band I still enjoy and respect the band to have an opinion on what happens to their music and I historically don't enjoy covers of really old songs, with the main exception being Every time Yashin's cover of the classic Britney song.

I went ahead and listened to the track anyway just in case it surprised me.

IT DID AND I LOVE IT!

Unlike the bands Akon cover where they went for something predictable their NIN cover brought us something totally new for the first half at least and while many naysayers will argue that after that they do go back to their comfort zone but that first part is all that is needed. If the whole song was recorded in the same way it would have been a tribute rather than a cover,* on the other hand if it had been done the other way it would have been just another AA song.

*In my opinion the difference between a tribute and a cover is that a tribute is the song re-made note for note while a cover is a re-imagining of a song.

Whitechapel: The Saw is the Law... review

Metal blade records dropped the lyric video for The saw is the law on the 26th of February. The song is part of Whitechapel's fifth full length album set to be released on the 29th of April (I'd assume that that's the US release date with the EU and the rest of the world following in a couple days time).

I'd like to say that the track is something fresh, interesting and new and that it gives the band a new feel but unfortunately (in my opinion, not that I don't like what the band is doing) there's nothing new. For first time listeners and metal newbies it's still as intimidating as watching a BOTDF concert in a motion controlled electric chair. There's not much to say about it, the opening and breakdown are the two best bits of the track but apart from that it's vanilla deathcore and vanilla Whitechapel.
