Deadman Wonderland episode 2 Some spoilers

The episode opens with Makina giving a quick introduction to the series and a hint as to what has and will happen in her usual threatening tone. The image then snaps to Makina sat in a dimly lit office with only a computer screen lighting the room with tense music driving the atmosphere and then to Tamaki who gives a small speech of his own.

After the opening theme the scene changes to Ganta in a doctors office where he is receiving treatment where he meets a fellow inmate who ran into him with a trolley. Shiro decides to drop in talking about a race which the as of yet un-named inmate called the Dog Race. He then proceeds to explain some of the key aspects of Deadman Wonderland. This scene acts to explain the end of the previous episode and it did it well making the scene a little more interesting than the standard introductory B.S.

The episode then skips to the race preparations
they are introduced to another inmate Kozuji, a former MMA fighter, a thug and a psycho with a superiority complex. One of the unfortunate many who has a two dimensional personality, he'd be a bit more intimidating if we hadn't seen it more than a million times. After some needless chatter the the race begins. And what a messy event it is. It once again proves to the audience that it has been rated properly. I wont go into too much detail but I will say there are some spectacular scenes with one hell of a battle royal to top it all off before a somewhat tense ending and a reminder of our heroes predicament.
